I have been in the Columbus area for about 16 years and had not been to a decent BBQ place here. I saw a fb post about Hank's so my wife & I tried it out! And... it was AMAZING!!! She had the Hank's Way brisket sandwich with fries. Now, let me first say, she is not into BBQ like I am but, she LOVED the sandwich!!! The white bbq sauce was her favorite! 20 out of 10 stars she said!! Now I got the 2 meat plate (I got brisket & pulled chicken) with green beans & coleslaw. One of my favorite things in the world was when my Grandmaw Lucille made her coleslaw. It was perfection every time! I had never had another coleslaw that was banging like hers. But now I have! The coleslaw was absolutely delicious!! LOVED IT!!! The green beans were good but they had an Asian flare to me that didn't go well with the meats. I did bring them home and had them for lunch the next day and they were good but not my favorite. Now, the pulled chicken... Some pieces were great, some pieces just tasted like how lighter fluid smells. So I think at our next visit I will steer clear of that. Now, the brisket, AMAZING!! Food was good but for a barbeque place the meat portions were very small. Had a 2 meat plate. Ordered brisket & smoked turkey. Got 1 1/2 small slices of brisket and one small slice of turkey. Sides (slaw & collards) were good and portions were ok. Not generous but ok. Wait staff was great. Again, the food was good but they need to increase portions of meat on combo plates. Too small for the money.

We just got back from Austin Texas and I wanted to try to find the best BBQ around Columbus so I could know where to go after experiencing some really good food on the trip. This was one of the places on my list and it did not disappoint! Really juicy and Smokey meat. The corn bread is delicious, just the right amount of sweet in my opinion. I got the turkey and chicken and both were great. The rest of the table loved the brisket as well (and wished they got more). Definitely will be coming back here! Our server was very welcoming and fun, and service was fast!

First time at Hanks. The meats were delicious! We had pulled pork, ribs, and the jalapeño sausage, all were delicious. We tried all the sauces our personal favorite was the mustard Carolina sauce. The hanks spicy wasn’t very spicy the classic hanks bbq was decent too. The spoon cornbread was really tasty and super moist. The collard greens were ok. The leaves needed cut down a little more before cooking and the tomatoes in were a little odd. The flavor was decent, just would have been better if the leaves weren’t awkwardly large. The baked beans were great, super tasty! Mac and cheese was decent not super flavorful. The sweet tea was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. Overall we will come again for BBQ.

The staff was super welcoming and friendly. Our food came out pretty quickly and the sweet tea was awesome. The meats were good and moist. The sauces were tasty. Really liked the garlic aoili. Unfortunately the Mac and cheese was flavorless and the brisket beans were not out favorite they were very heavily flavored with bell peppers and we didn't get that brisket taste at all. Overall good experience. Would like to go back and try some other things.
